AutoPlay handlers

I want to run a script that enables the sharing of a
thumb drive whenever that drive is connected to PC.

I can do that by creating a AutoPlay handler using
TweakUI and then choosing that action when the thumb
drive is connected. Except that there it will on work on
these events:
1. there are music files on the thumb drive
2. there are video files
3. mixed content

But when the drive is empty (no files), it automatically
opens an explorer window with no options to choose action.

I want to have my own handler (that one with the script)
instead of the "open explorer" handler when I connect an
empty thumb drive.

What regestry keys do I have to modify or create?
(Maybe something with the "GenericVolumeArrival").

Some more questions...

Is it possible to create an autorun.inf file for a USB
thumb drive (and have it open a bat file)? (That is
without any 3rd party programs installed).

Any other ways to automatically turn on sharing for a
thumb drive when it is connected? (Or make it always
shared - even better).
