Automating comments by using the cursor

I would like to add a comments box onto a slide but don't want it visible all
the time. Can I create a comment box that is only visible when I click or
hover the cursor over a specific part of the slide?
 
If you mean in edit mode then simply insert > comment

If you mean during a show create an object (maybe invisible) and set action
settigs > mouseover to hyperlink to a duplicate slide except for your comment
box. You can set a mouseover anywhere outside the comment box to return to
the original slide. This will look a pop up comment box
