automatically update font to default setting

I created a template using the 12 point Times New Roman font, but sometimes
when an engineer opens the template to create a new document, they copy and
paste text--having a different font and/or size--into the new document.

Is there a way to automatically change that text to 12 point Times New Roman
as it's being dropped into the new document? Thanks! Suzanne

You can use Paste Special | Unformatted Text or, if you have a version that
has Paste Options, choose Match Destination Formatting or Keep Text Only.
