Automatically put appointments on Group Calendar?

John

Hi,

There are 6 people in the office. Everyone has their own
Exchange/domain accounts. There is also a Group calendar that has
appointments that effect the whole office (one person is on vacation
for a week, there's a meeting with a customer that involves everyone).

Is there an easy way when a user is creating a new appointment for
his/her personal calendar it will also be placed on the group
calendar? I'm wondering if the category is set to something special
like "Group" the appointment will automatically populate BOTH
calendars.

Another idea I have is to make it easy to put an appointment on
everyone's personal calendar (without having to invite them, and then
they have to accept).

Thoughts? Ideas?

Thanks!
John

Ooh! Good idea. I've never done that before.

Would the group calendar need to "accept" the appointment, or would it
automatically be accepted and appear on the group calendar?

When I put the name of the public calendar "Pub Cal" in the To: field
of an appointment invitation, Outlook complains that it doesn't know
who "Pub Cal" is. When I click on the To: button I see a list of
people, but I don't see the public calendar listed? What am I doing
wrong?

Thanks,
John

Sounds like that folder is set to be hidden from the GAL. You'll need to change that with the Exchange admin tools.
