automatically moving emails

I have created rules to move emails that come in from listserve email lists.
It does not take automatically, I have to manually run the rules. How can I
make it automatic? Also, why is a copy kept in the inbox and moved ot the
new folder (under the rule). How do I stop this?

Try this: Add the "stop processing more rules" action to each of the rules
that moves
a message.

I had the same problem and this worked. Thanks to Brian Tilman for the advice.
