Automatically Deleting Files

My computer automatically deletes files. This happens
about every 5 - 10 minutes when the computer is running.
The files are not anything that makes the computer run
differently and only lasts for a second, but it
interrupts whatever we are doing at the moment. My son
gets especially frustrated while playing games.

Any ideas or solutions would be helpful!

Thank you!

Check your Temp directory in the Windows directory. If the Temp directory
has files in it, close all running programs and delete all the files in the
temp directory.

This is definitely not normal behavior, but you don't really provide
enough information to get a specific answer. What files are deleted? Do
they go to the recycle bin? How do you know they are being deleted?
Certainly you should immediately scan with a current antivirus program
(meaning a version not earlier than 2002 and using updated virus
definitions). Please repost if you need more help, including more
details about your system, the answers to the questions above, and what
you've already done to troubleshoot the problem.

Cheers,

Malke
