On starting PC loads my personal settings then
automatically closes down and saves my personal settings.
Deos anyone know the name of the virus - or a solution

Can you login the safe mode?

when yes

1.start
2.run
3.msconfig
4.go to startup
5.disable all items

restart the computer in the normal mode,

try this and give please a answer after you try it

Hi Tim,

Same problem from safe mode, still takes me back to log in
screen. On logging in message reads "loading personal
settings" and then system automatically logs off with
message "saving personal settings". I can't get by the
log in screen to do anything about it. I loaded what I
thought was a MS update ( Obviously a virus). I see from
the newsgroup that several other users are having the same
problem
