Automatic XP updates not installing

I have reinstalled my machine, Have Windows XP only 1
user account ("Admin")

Click on windows update, start to download the update
files and its say that its installed the lastest patches.

However in the Windows Control panel this shows nothing
as being installed.

I did have the RPC "NT shutdown" problem but this has
been removed.

Any chance that someone got a fix.

In Control Panel, did you check Add/Remove Programs for "Hotfixes," those
are the updates.
