automatic user accounts?!

i am running windows xp and recently the computer has
started switching to the user login screen whenever the
keyboard input is idle for 10 min, as well as going to
the use login screen upon start up( programs eg windows
media player will be running, and these will be turned
off). i have no idea why it started to do this, nor can i
find a way to stop it. please help!
