Automatic updates

mairead

In my windows security center the automatic updates is always turned off.
When i click to turn them on, another box appears telling me how to fix it.
When i follow these the correct boxes are ticked but they won't turn on.

I've tried many other ways and when i follow one to enable my automatic
updates, I clicked to start it but i think i need something called 'start
parameters'

Please someone help, i constantly get popups and other things because of
this.

Hello mairead,

I'd suggest If you have a root-kit detector installed, try F-Secure Online
Virus Scanner:
<http://support.f-secure.com/enu/home/ols.shtml>

Download Superantispyware (Free)
<http://www.superantispyware.com/supe....html?rid=3132>

Run Ewido (now known as AVG Anti-Spyware) Online

Also have a look to this URLs provided by Dave M.

Also I would suggest running a HijackThis to to ensure that Vundo did not
bring along any uninvited guests. (SDBot and ZLOB, all protected by a
rootkit.)

Please read this guide before actually doing the procedure
And it has all of the links for downloads you need.

I hope this post is helpful.

Let us know how it works ºut.

I'm sure more knowledgeable people will be along soon.

Good luck
