Automatic update problem

How do I get Win XP to stop trying to update "816093: Security Update
Microsoft Virtual Machine"?
It keeps telling me I have updates to install but when I say OK, it tells
me it will only upgrade and existing version of VM.
Apparently, I do not have VM, so how do I tell it to stop giving me the
update pop up?
Thanks

Just go to the windows updates site and run the updates engine then select
Customize instead of Express there uncheck this update and check don't show
again or something similar.
My guess you installed a new softwares that is dependent on VM and the
updates engine recognize that and try to download the update for that
application to function!.
HTH.

Thanks for the help. That got rid of the litter bugger. My update history
now tells me in ominous colors that since I told it not to ask again, I may
be at risk. Oh well, I can live with that!

XP seems to be very good at nagging you to death if you turn off
something to replace it with better.
