Automatic update doesn't work

We have an office with about 30 PCs all running XP, SP1.
All the PCs are set up to check for and automatically
install updates everyday at 7:00 PM. All the computers
are logged on to our network (but locked) and all have
access to the Internet.

When I was checking to see if the latest critical patch
(KB828028) was installed, none were. I can install the
patch manually, but I'm wondering why the automatic
update didn't work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Users will need administrative rights to be able to run windows update.
