Using a dial up ISP, an automatic password is inserted into the slot for the password. How do I disable this automatic password and replace it with the correct, specific one

I have gone into the internet options and deleted and re-installed but the unknown dots re-appear, after I close out the window and re-open. There is no way I can automatically connect to the internet with this happening

Hi,
See if Protected Storage PassView from
http://www.webattack.com/get/pspv.shtml will help you delete this password.
If not, post back, there are probably other possible solutions.

Hey Don
Good lead. I did not find any unknown password. Some Outlook Express passwords, no Internet Explorer passwords. Others for sites and misc. doors and passages on the web, but I saw nothing for what I thought might be out of place. Any other solutions or leads

If you're using WinXP, are you assuming this password to be incorrect
because it has the wrong number of asterisks? That's a security measure. Are
you sure that the password is incorrect?

My isp won't accecpt the password. The unknown password is not accecpted my the dial up provider. It states incorrect username or password. That is all I know. I wondered if there was a place in XP that I could find a spot where this password is and either delete it or change it and save it as the password I need
I have had this issue on a laptop I set up to access the internet via a dial up connection also
Thanks

Try... Ctrl Panel> User Accounts> Manage Passwords.

Under user accounts I see no manage passwords. I have set up (4) accounts. The administrator account has the only password installed. All other accounts were set up without password protection.
I guess I really don't know what I am doing

Sorry. I'm at a disadvantage in that I don't have XP in front of me. Try
posting the original question to the WindowsXP General newsgroup, or the
Windows 5x forum at http://forum.aumha.org I think this is an XP question
rather than an Internet Explorer question. The support at
http://forum.aumha.org is great and your post will be easy to follow.
