Automatic Section Breaks

Hello,

Overview: I set up a new section in my document for Appendices. I
formatted a new heading to automatically head and number my appendices, which
works great. I now want to number my Appendix pages with the chapter
(appendix) and page number.

The Problem: I have the page numbers showing the chapter (appendix)
followed by the page number. But, the page number succeeds the prior
appendix page number. So, for Appendix A, the page number shows A-1, A-2,
etc. The page number for the FIRST page of APPENDIX B shows B-3 (picks up
with whatever number appendix A left off with, in other words), instead of
B-1 as I would like.

I have the Page Number Format set to "Start at" "1" and do not have the
Footer linked to the previous footer, but still the numbering continues from
the prior Appendix.

I assume I need to include a section break between Appendices for this to
work the way I want (although that is not how the MS Word Help tutorial I
read describes it). Is there a way to specify a "section break before" for
the Appendix heading style I set up instead of just a "page break before" as
is currently set?

Thank you, and sorry for the long-winded question!

For each section, you need to go into Format Page Number and select Start at
1.
