Automatic Search no longer works in IE

Can someone please tell me how I can restore my automatic
search capacity? now when i type in a word or phrase, it
does not open automatically to a search page...it just
says it cannot connect. help please.
 
Maybe your browser is working in Off Line mode, check File and ensure that
Work Offline is not checked.
