Automatic Scan Will Not Work - HELP!!

I know this topic has been discussed before, but I'm not sure how I can fix
it. I cannot get Windows Defender Beta 2 (build 1347) to perform automatic
scans. I am running W2K SP4 (completely updated). Scheduled Tasks are
enabled, and I created a new task for Windows Defender using the following
syntax:

"C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MpCmdRun.exe" Scan -ScanType config
-Privileges restricted

Will this work, or is my syntax incorrect? Is there a space between
MpCmdRun.exe" and Scan (couldn't tell from the posts because the syntax
appeared on two lines)? Do I even need this workaround? All help
appreciated.

Hello Joe;

Your probably seeing the post started by Tom Emmelot on 3/10 and using that
as a guide. I believe there was a change to the mpcmdrun.exe since because
my copy is dated 4/3, and there is no reference to "config -Privileges
restricted"

So the place to start is to run:
mpcmdrun ?
from a command prompt within the WD folder and find out what syntax is
appropriate for your machine.

Here's what my batch file (.bat) to run a FULL scan looks like as it sits
in the WD folder

@echo off
"C:\Program Files\
Windows Defender\MpCmdRun.exe" -Scan -ScanType 2

The above line was broken intentionally for forum posting only.
There is no space here "Program Files\Windows Defender"
