Automatic receive when Outlook starts?

I recently moved to Outlook from OE and have noticed that Outlook doesn't
seem to do an automaic 'receive' when it first starts up. OE would start
receiving messages immediately.

I've looked for an option to allow this, but can't seem to find one. Anyone?

Assuming that you are using Outlook 2002/2003, check your send/receive
settings to see if the box is ticked to collect mail every XX minutes.
(CTRL + ALT + S to bring up the send/receive settings dialog box.)
