Automatic placement of parentheses and dashes in contact phone num

My previous version of Outlook automatically inserted parentheses and dashes
at the correct places in contact phone numbers I would enter. The newer
version doesn't do this and I have to enter these characters manually. How
can I turn this feature back on?

There is no setting for this feature. Outlook does this automatically
whenever you set your default dialing location for the operating system.
