Automatic Numbering

I do not want Word to automatically number a list for me (or to change
numbers if I delete a number (i.e., 1.1, 1.2, 1.3). How can I turn this off?
 
Sorry, wrong newsgroup. This newsgroup is for Microsoft Access (a database
application) anot not general computer "access".

Suggest you re-post your question in one of the relevant Word
newsgroups.
