when designing this macro for "transfertext", it talks about a specification
file.

In plain jane english, what are they talking about? Is it supposed to
contain the data definitions or something? Can someone point me in the
right direction concerning this?

ANY help appreciated,

Thanks
Dave

A specification "file" is a specification that you save for how to import or
export a file. You set up such a specification by beginning to do the import
or export manually from the File menu. When the import or export wizard
window opens, you'll see a button at lower left corner, named "Advanced".
Click that button and you can set all the paramters that you wish for the
file's handling. Then save that specification using the Save button at right
middle of the screen. Then cancel the export/import and use the name that
you just saved as the "Specification" argument in the TransferText command.
