Automatic Deletion of Inbox Message When Replying

Yesterday I realized that when I hit reply to an Inbox email message and sent that reply, the original message is simultaneously deleted from the Inbox. A couple appeard in the Deleted Box but others have gone into email heavan. The same thing happened when I forwarded an email. Once forwarded, the email message was lost from the Inbox. Can anyone help me, please?

When you reply to a message, the origial is marked as read. I suspect you
have your View set to "Unread Messages" instead of just "Messages". Check
your View with View>Current View.
