Right now the user has to manally click check for new messages. Where in
Outlook 2000 can you setup to automatically send & Receive messages every "X"
minutes?

It's likely under Tools > Options somewhere, I haven't used 2000 without
Exchange so I don't know exactly where the location is.

Is there anyone that can give me specifics? My first instinct was to look
under Tools Options but I can not find it. Where can I get detailed
information on this? Help would be greatly appreciated.

I have Outlook 2000 on my old laptop at home, so I can check it there,
but I won't be back here until Tuesday. Meanwhile check Outlook Help.

It's usually a problem with UDP packets not getting through from the server
to the client (new mail notifications are sent as UDP packets). The reason
that it updates when the user clicks on another folder is you are forcing a
connection from the client to the server to update/refresh the folder, so the
mail count is updated as well.
