Automated driver and BIOS updates

Does anyone know of a product that works that has the ability send
notifications of device driver and BIOS updates? Both the IBM and DELL sites
don't seem to work correctly.

How are you all managing your driver and BIOS updates out there? There's got
to be an easier way than manually checking the IBM and DELL websites for
updates.

Please help. :-/

The BIOS should not be updated unless it is necessary. Unless the update
adds needed functionality, it is best to leave well enough alone. Same goes
for drivers, if it ain't broke..... I know this did not answer your
question, but I see no need for the arbitrary notification a new BIOS or
driver is available. When you need it look for it.

There are utilities out there to do it, but the advice is not to use them as
it leads people to update their systems when they have no need, viruses,
spyware, system instability and ensuing total loss of system until a new
bios chip is acquired.
