autohide ruler XP

Someone on our network keeps setting the ruler to autohide

Anyone know how to switch it back to normal view?

oooops ) - i didn't realise it autohides when it's switched 'off', so i
didn't bother checking the obvious - i've been trawling through the tools
settings - right-clicking on it - grrrrr
