Autofill in outlook XP (2003) on laptop inconsistant

I have recently switched from using outlook XP on my desktop to using in on
my laptop. The autofill function worked fine on the desktop and works for a
few days on the laptop, but then seems to 'forget' the addresses and they are
no longer available. Is there someplace where I have to set the length of
time before they are deleted or is there something else I have to adjust?
Any help is appreciated.
