autofill emails

I am on outlook 2000 and my office just installed new computers. I used to be
able to start an email , type a couple of letters and the rest would
autmatically fill in. This is most helpful when typing to overseas clients
with very long emails. I did not have a contact list in my old computer and
the autofill worked. They added a contact list now to this one where it
automatically adds all emails to this list but that doesnt help me when I am
trying to remember my old emails that were not on the contact list before
but were in the autocomplete/auto email function. I desperately need this
autofill function back on , my IT dept. said it will eventually kick in,
WHEN? OR can I turn it on somehow to start immediately.Please help!

Something is wrong in your post.
Outlook 2000 never had this feature.
