Autoexec.NT???!!

Hay Guys,
Long story short im running XP on my comp, everything is great but for a
while now, everytime i run a program which uses MS-DOS i get this sign :
'C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT this system file is not capable of running
MS-DOS or windows based programs.' For instance i cannot even use 'command'
from the run menu, i just get this message with all MS-DOS based
applications. Please could somebody help me i have no idea how to resolve
this. (and its really annoying)

Alternatively, Start > Run and type without quotes:

"cmd /c copy /y %windir%\repair\autoexec.nt %windir%\system32"
