AutoCorrect with Formatting

Don

I'm trying to create an AutoCorrect entry that will
do a piece of formatting for me. I'd like it to change
entries of "Const." in regular type to "Const." (with the
period) in large and small caps. When I try to include
the period, the formatting option turns off. (I need the
period because I do not want it to do large and small caps
for the first five letters of the fulll
word "Constitution.")
Is there any way around this?
Thanks in advance for the help.

The way around this is to use Const as the AutoCorrect entry. AutoCorrect
does not fire until you type a space or a punctuation mark, so this entry
will not affect the word "construction." Also, I would suggest using
something more efficient as the trigger text: Why waste motion capitalizing
and typing out "Const" when you can use, say, "cst"? This has the added
advantage that you would not be typing this for any reason except to insert
the AutoCorrect entry. When you type the period at the end of "cst," not
only will you have the desired period, but the AutoCorrect will fire.
