Autocomplete problem

J

Jack Nation

I use WinXP. I recently installed IE7. I also use Google Toolbar.

Now my Autocomplete works on the Address bar, even though I unchecked
the Autocomplete box in the Tools, Options, Advanced tab. How can I
shut it off Autocomplete?

Don't be such a perfectionist.

It has nothing to do with being a perfectionist. PA Bear's response is
completely appropriate, and also helpful. Besides the question being
off-topic here, Jack Nation will be much more likely to get the help
he needs if he asks in the appropriate newsgroup, since that's where
the experts in that technology hang out.

I don't believe it to be 'Completely Appropriate'. Internet Explorer comes
with Windows XP. And, this is a Windows XP 'general' newsgroup. It would be
much more appropriate to ignore the OP if you don't know or have an answer.
I.E. Be considerate.

Telling someone where the best place is to get an answer *is* both
considerate and helpful. Ignoring someone when you could help by
pointing to the right place is neither helpful nor considerate.

Yes, I consider PA Bear's response to have been very polite. If you
have an opposite opinion, that's fine. I don't want to argue the point
any further, and as far as I'm concerned, this conversation is over.
Feel free to have a different opinion from mine.

I most certainly do have an opposite opinion. Responders to posts need not
be rude.
