Autocomplete in Search window: how to clear?

Can I permanently clear the autocomplete entries in the Search feature?
Autocomplete can be turned off, but when turned back on, the entries are still
there.

[Duh]

Jay, you can but you will have to edit the registry to do it. The entries
can be found at this location in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Search Assistant\ACMru. You will have
to delete the strings in the subfolders.
