Autocomplete doesn't work

There are some web addresses which persist despite clearing the history and clearing the autocomplete list. How do I get rid of these? Please don't suggest turning off autocomplete as this does not remove the addresses, just stops them from appearing until autocomplete is turned back on
I have XP.
