Autobullet in standard textbox

L

Luut

Hello everyone.

I made a custom template. But a problem appears. When I
draw a shape or textbox, a bullet is placed automatically
in the shape or textbox. I tried removing it and then
check the option 'default for new object'. But the bullet
keeps reappearing when I draw a textbox or shape. How can
I change this?

Secondly, (incase I do want to have a template with auto
bullets in new shapes or textboxes), the bullet is not of
the type that I want it to be. Now it's a little dot, but
I want it to be an arrow (a character from the wingdings
font). I know how to change it afterwards in a bulleted
textbox, but how do I make it standard? My text box
placeholder on the master slide has the right settings
when it comes to the settings of the bullet types, but
still when I draw a new textbox, a whole different textbox
with other settings appears.

Thanks in advance.

Greetz, Luut.

Hi,

I think both the problems you have mentioned can be solved
using "Set Autoshape Defaults."

Solution for first issue: Select a textbox with no
formatting at all (i.e. ensure it is not a bulleted list)
and then right-click on the textbox and click "Set
Autoshape Defaults". To get a textbox without formatting,
the best thing is to open a new powerpoint file, add a
textbox, copy the textbox to your powerpoint file and set
it as default.

Solution for the second issue: Select the textbox which
has the right settings that you want. Then set it as
default.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Purvi
