Autoarchive Group Policy

I'm trying to enforce AutoArchive GP on my network. The policy gets applied
successfully on all the clients however, AutoArchive is not being performed
by outlook. This is the case with all the workstations (I have mixed
environment with outlook 2000, XP and 2003) When I archive items manually all
folders archive o.k. according to the default settings enforced by gp. Why
isn't outlook automatically archiving the messages? Is there a log specific
to archiving that I can look for additional clues?

AutoArchive keeps no log. How often do you have AutoArchive set to run?

Once a month archiving all messages older than six months. Initially I had
it set to run every day (to make sure it goes the full cycle) but that didn’t
work either.

It's always possible that when it ran, there were no items that met the autoarchive criteria. That's the most common cause of AutoArchive "problems." A good test would be to reduce the archive threshhold to an interval you know that some data will meet, then set AutoArchive to run once a day so that you'll see what it does tomorrow.

Thanks for all the help, however I know for a fact that there are items more
than two years old in user mailboxes (marked as accessed), and again, if I
archive manually they do get archived according to specified settings. Any
other suggestions greatly appreciated.

Manual archive has always worked a little different -- I'm not sure why. The date to check is the Modified date. If the user changed the items more recently, they won't archive. Occasionally, you may also see some items that just won't archive, period. I've never seen an explanation of why they get "stuck."
