After we upgraded our exchange 5.5 server to Servicepack 4 the
function autoarchive does not work. Also manually archiving to a pst
file does not work.

The following error occurs when you try to archive (translated from
Dutch) :

Cannot copy items. Cannot move or copy folders. Cannot copy the
folder. A source folder cannot be copied to one of its own underlying
folders or you do not have sufficient permissions for the folder. If
you want to check the permissions for the folder, then right click the
folder and click properties. The action failed.

Does somebody know a solution to this problem ?

First check your permissions on the mailboxes; are the users to create and
delete messages manually?
Try archiving just one folder and see if that works.

Check the archive.pst file on the following;
-if it still exists
-if you have read/write access to it
-if it holds any errors by scanning it with scanpst.exe
-if you can open it succesfully in Outlook
-if it's not bigger (or approaching) the 2GB
