auto updating of placed images on the page

G

Gary

I altered a GIF graphic that's common to several Front
Page files that I made. The Front Page files for this
particular placed image all point to this directory as the

g:/DailyNews/2003/

I copied my revised GIF file to this location. I have
many completed Front Page files on my hard drive. When I
opened them, I expected to see the new revised GIF graphic
displayed on every page. But instead, I still see the
original GIF file sitting there. In other words, it did
not update automatically to display the revised GIF that
was placed in the aforementioned folder (2003). In
addition, the GIF image appeared degraded on the page
(poor quality).

So,this GIF image in Front Page does not swap out to
display the one I copied to the /2003/. (the new image
file with the same name replaced the old one.)

My questions are:

Why doesn't the GIF file dynamically update in FP?

How can I get to?

1. Make sure you have the web open first.
2. Delete the current image from the web within FP.
3. Import new image into web via FP, and place into the same location as the
original.

The image must be named the same and the pixel size must be the same.
