You don't _have_ to do anything. If Office XP is installed or any of
the Office programs version 2002 then you should.

My Computer is XP 'Home' Edition but I do have the following on it although
I never use them with the exception of 'Word" & that only rarely

M/S Works Database
" " Portfolio
" " Spreadsheet
" Word
" Money

so do I need to download the 'Office' XP Service Pack 3 ???

The word requires an update. It is part of 2002 family. Whether you
use it or not, because you have got it on the system, you are entitled
to get updates free of charge. You don't have to take up this generous
offer but the fact that if for some reasons you decide to launch Word in
the future then you might trigger a security alert!

The update is free and unles you have problems downloading it, you
should take it.

Well I wouldn't want that to happen but I am only on dial up & it says it
will take 2 1/2 hours ....Jon posted that it can be ordered online but I live
in Australia & I can't find anything about it on the Aust. Microsoft web site
about it...... I remember when Microsoft Service Pack 2 came out I ordered
it on a CD & it never arrived...luckily my computer got 'sick' around that
time & I had to get it repaired so they installed the servive pack while they
had it.

Why not take your PC to your nearest Internet Cafe and pay a fee of
$2.00 to update it! I do it all the time and I am in London, UK. I am
still very poor to afford my own internet connection.
