How do I turn off the feature that switches an inactive
browser to active if something has been updated while
being minimized. I will be working in other windows and
suddenly what I'm working on becomes inactive. It's
driving me nuts. Anyone know?

Hello Wayne,

One way is via TweakUI (for XP). If this is not
installed on your system, then download it from http://
www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Note: V2.10.0.0 needs Windows XP SP 1

In TweakUI, navigate to | General | Focus |
[Y] "Prevent applications from stealing focus"

Adjust the other settings in that dialog as required.

Thanks Jan! I downloaded that and it's really cool.
Unfortunately, it didn't stop my issue completely,
although it did slow it down some -- so I can actually
type a full sentence without being kicked off to another
window. At least now I know what the "feature" is called.

Thanks again!

Hello Wayne,

You are welcome! Thank you for your feedback.

It could be that the inactive browser is running
a script which causes this. One solution is to alter the
script itself before the browser runs the script. It is
a very techical procedure, though.
