Auto setting that removes Outlook Calendar appts older than 2004

Is there a feature in Outlook Calendar that will automatically remove
appointments older than a designated time frame that the user selects, i.e.
one year?

I was under the impression that the Calendar goes back only about a year.
Is that not true?
