retrieving archived items in calendar

my office outlook is setup to auto-archive. usually if i need to reveiw a
calendar appt from 3months past +, i can just click on the 'calendar in
archive folders' to review any old items. i tried this today and at first
this option was not even there. then thru the HELP function i followed the
instructions on how to restore archived items. But after i followed these
directions, i did not see any change in my outlook. then i went back to my
calendar, and found the button to view calendar in archive folders. the only
problem was that there were no old appointments in the archved folder. where
did they go? how can i get them back?
i figured out how to not auto-archive my calendar appts, but i need to find
out how to put the old calendar appts back into my calendar.

Do you have more than one archive PST file? Also, before the recent change
did you previously change the archive settings to not save items?

i just have one archive PST file that's about 1.8 GB, but also have a another
PST file under my name, however this is only 525MB, then i have an outlook2
OST file. Not sure what that is, but it's 1.2GB.
only yesterday did i change the calendar only to not archive anymore, but i
haven't changed anything else.

What version of Outlook are you using? If Outlook 2002 or earlier, you have
reached the limit for your archive.pst file size. If you are using Outlook
2003 or later, do you have your .pst file in the unicode or ansi format?
Check File->Data File Management->Highlight your data file->Settings. If it
says 97-2002 format, you have still reached your limit on the file size.

Unicode or Ansi format? Your guess is as good as mine. How do i find out?

i have outlook 2003

Ansi = 97-2002 format. Unicode = Personal Folders File.

ok, i have both an archive folder and a personal folder. my archive folder
is unicode format, but my personal folder is ansi format.
