Auto Scan Scheduling Options

Bob

I have been wondering for sometime now about this auto scan feature . I
would like to utilize this feature but I do not leave the machine on. So now
my question is if I pick a time and frequency to auto scan will it start the
auto scan whenever I get around to powering up and logging in? My guess is
probably not. Does anyone happen to know. Thanks.

I can't help with your question but - If you don't get any answers, why don't
*you*
perform the experiment and post back your impressions?

If the scheduled scan doesn't happen over some time period, the Windows
Defender icon will turn yellow, and remind you to do a scan.

You might want to change the schedule to approximate lunch time, if that's
relevant, or dinner time for a home machine. A quickscan, which is the
appropriate default for a scheduled scan, is pretty easy on
resources--should not take forever, nor be intrusive on most (but not all!)
machines.
