Auto Save preferences not retained

I'm running XP Home and Office 2000 but Excel won't
retain my Auto Save preferences (interval at which i want
to auto save and not requiring a prompt to save) when I
close and then reopen Excel. Anybody know of a patch for
this?

Hey Norman - thanks for the quick response. I installed
the SR-1a update and following installation was prompted
to restart. Once I did though, I did not get
the "Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Update completed
successfully" window. Also, I'm still experiencing the
same issue - settings aren't being retained. I've tried
to reinstall the update but when I click on the "o2ksr1a"
Installer that I placed on my desktop it says that I
already have the update. Also have rebooted a couple of
times but no difference. Any suggestions?

thx again for your help.

Hi David!

All I can suggest is removing and re-installing. First Office 2000.
Then the SR1 and the SR1a

But a sidestep of the problem is to download the AutoSafe addin of Jan
Karel Pieterse; it's much better than Excel's AutoSave:

Make sure that you grab AutoSafe.zip not AutoSafeVBE.zip
