Auto-reply option

Alan

In our office, we are using Outlook 2002 with our inhouse
Exchange 2000 server.

I am trying to configure Outlook auto reply option in
such a way that it will reply everytime when someone send
you an email if you turn auto reply feature ON.

By default, it only works ONCE and if the same person
send another email to you, he will not get your auto
reply message.

Does anyone know how to do it?

This is the behaviour of the Out of Office Assistant you are describing not
of an auto reply. The OoOA will only send one message indeed. The list will
get a reset when the OoOA is disabled and will send again (once) the OoOA is
enabled.

If you want it to reply all the time you must create a Wizard Rule for this
that replies on all mail. Make sure you set some exceptions (for instance
based on the subject field so it will not reply on subject with e.g. reply,
failed, undeliverable, etc...) otherwhise you could create endless mailloops
between two mailservers and those can be a real threat to the mailservers!

Hi Alan,

You're welcome! Creating a rule for this isn't hard at all but if you get
stuck you know where to find me! ;-)
