Auto pst backup?

I can't believe MS hasn't provided an auto backup
function in Outlook 2003, without having to close Outlook
and be reminded that a backup is due. Outlook runs 24/7
on my PC, so any idea how to achieve autoback without 3rd
party software?

regards.

Maybe the file is locked whilst OL is open.
Perhaps you create a script/batch file for use in the Schedule Tasks module.
To close OL, backup and restart.- just a thought

True, Outlook probably does lock files, but if ABF can do
a backup with Outlook open, I am sure MS can, if
programmed to do so. BUT is the backup facility built
into Outlook, or is a seperate utility that can be
called? Either way, too many mouse clicks to start the
backup, even if Outlook was closed down and the backup
reminder pop'd up. It needs automation with no human
input.
