Does anybody know what the action it is I must perform to
have Windows XP prepopulate common words? For example my
Outlook remebers what I am typing after the first 3
letters. Also, for common cites in IE, I can just start
to type common usernames and XP prepopulates with
suggestions. Any answers would be appreciated.

To be clear, Windows is not responsible for any of the actions you are
describing.

Outlook, Word, Excel and all other Office products use a feature called
AutoText, which is found in that particular program's AutoCorrect settings.
The AutoText entries are shared across all the Office products, so if you
add an AutoText entry into Word then Outlook will use it as well.

Internet Explorer uses a different feature called AutoComplete to remember
what you've typed into various types of form elements so that if you find
yourself needing to fill in, say a TextBox on a web page, it will list
everything you've entered into TextBoxes before.

So when you ask what to do to get Windows to pre-populate words, the answer
is: you can't. You need to determine what software you want this to work in
and then see if that software has such a feature.
