How do I configure a new winxp pro install so that the user is automatically
presented with a logon screen to the win2k server, so that a mapped drive is
available, as part of the winxp startup process? IOW, as Winxp is booting
up, somewhere I need the server logon screen to appear.

Since this was a format-and-reinstall, the winxp user is "owner" and I
didn't set a password for owner.

As it is now, the drive does not really appear until they try to select it,
and then the logon screen appears.

Thanks.

not sure the issues, but if you join the computer to a domain, the logon screen should display. You also may want to create a logon script to map the drives.
