Auto-insert notification

In windows XP, how can I turn off auto-insert
notification for disc drives to prevent the system from
acting when a CD or Zip disc is inserted. In Win 98 this
could be done easyly from device manager but the facility
does not appear to be in XP

Open XP's "Help and Support" and type: AUTOPLAY , and hit enter.
Then click on "Change how your computer handles multimedia content".

If you are having problems with Autoplay settings, and would like to repair
it and restore it to factory settings, you can use the following tool:

needs and then some.
