Auto Insert Notification:Turn OFF?

Auto Insert Notification: How do I turn it off. Using
Winxp, when I insert a disk in the zip drive to do backup
from within my application a window pops up displaying the
data on the zip drive. I am told that this is an OS
feature of XP that can turned off by editing the registry.
Can anyone (please) tell me how to turn this off in the
registry. I didn't use any Iomega software when installing
this: Windows set it up. In Device manager it is listed
under Storage volumes , Generic Volume.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. James I tried turning off Autoplay for this disk it
didn't help. Thanks for trying Tho!

Sunny;
Try this: Double click My Computer/right click your drive/Properties/AutoPlay
tab/pick what you want.
Hope this helps. Let us know.

Thanks, but no, that doesn't work. I tried the autoplay
tab (used mixed, not just music) I put in the disk. Up
Comes the window. I'll repost.

Sunny;
You're welcome. Works for me. You should try selecting: Take no action.

What does the dialog that pops up say it is?

Use TweakUI - one of the XP Powertoys from (if you have installed XP
SP1)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

If you have not installed SP!, the earlier version can be found at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

Use its My Computer - Autoplay - Drives section to uncheck (And hence
disable) on the specific device. You are better with it on for CDs, and
certainly for CD burners, where turning it off may give difficulty in
handling a blank disk
