Hi Wojtek,

Auto Hide option for the Task Bar is controlled by the registry key :

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StuckRects2

You may delete the same after taking a backup for the same.

How to backup

1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Type regedit
4. Navigate to :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StuckRects2
5. Right Click StuckRects2
6. Click Export

This will open the location My Documents

7. Save the file as autohide.reg

In case you face any issue after deleting the registry key and want to
revert to old setting simply double click the autohide.reg

the easier way to do this is to just right-click an emtpy spot on the
taskbar, click properties, then uncheck the 'Autohide the taskbar' box, click
'Apply.'

Then the taskbar won't block the bottom of your applications anymore. you
can recheck the 'Autohide' box and reclick 'Apply' to turn it back on

BUT the problem is that some applications, like Excel (!!), don't seem to
work with autohide, and as soon as your go into the application, or open more
than one file within the app, the taskbar gets stuck again. microsoft needs
to fix this--it's been a problem with several past versions of Windows too.
