Auto-hide does not work

For some strange reason, my task bar no longer goes into the Auto-Hide
mode.

I put a check in the box for Auto Hide. However, it does not hide itself, it
stays up permanetly. It used to pop up when I ran the cursor over the
taskbar area.

If I put a check in the box for "Keep Taskbar on top of other windows", the
taskbar also stays up permanently.

Unlock the taskbar. = Right click the Start button, select
"properties", click "Taskbar" tab, remove check from box that states
"Lock the Taskbar". You're done.
