Auto Forwarding - Selecting account to send from

I have several email accounts and i have an auto forwarding rule which is
utilising my Hotmail account to forward from and this is not my default email
account. How can I select the email account to forward from? Secondly I would
prefer to redirect the mail instead of forwarding it but there is no
redirection option in my rules.

Rules work on the default account. What is your default account?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, RJ asked:

My default account is the bigpond account but it is still sending from Hotmail.
